About Us

Modern Antiquity is a small company with offices in the U.K. and in the U.S. We're enthusiastic about the history and culture of the ancient world, and know that many people today share similar interests. As a business, Modern Antiquity aims to encourage those who enjoy learning about ancient cultures.

Our name indicates our mission to make the past relevant to today's world. Our products strive to be contemporary—reflecting the styles of today—but at the same time they are inspired by the past.

Our Staff

Our Managing Director is Betsy Alley, who has studied classical archaeology at top U.S. universities: she received a B.A. in Classics from Cornell University and an M.A. in Classical Archaeology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (both in the U.S.). She also holds an M.B.A. from London Business School. In her role, Betsy not only oversees the logistics of the business but also uses her knowledge of archaeology to ensure that our products use accurate and relevant images.

Our team also includes an accountant and an administrative associate; additionally, we work in conjunction with several suppliers in order to create products meeting high quality standards.
